Let me first say straight off the bat that I take my hat off to the MasterChef Australia contestants.  In my opinion, all of them are shining examples of living courageously……for having the courage to go for their dreams, and as the top 10 currently go through their drills, I salute them as we watch how they dig deep to find the courage and strength to persevere with their backs against the wall.  I enjoy watching the Masterchef series not only for the culinary fun and drama; it is an excellent reminder to me every week that all of us have that pool of courage within us to draw on when we need it.

We all have our unique strategy of not facing our fears – personally, the avoidance and procrastination strategy has always worked brilliantly for me.   Yet I know that to truly live the life I imagine for myself, I have to find ways to manage my fears.  Not to pretend that they don’t exist; because they do, and they scream loudly in my ear every day.  Rather to acknowledge them, and then find ways to overcome them.

Here are some wonderful tips from Tony Robbins on the 5 Ways to Live a More Courageous Life.  I hope you find this as useful as I have.

And to the MasterChef Australia contestants – thank you for being an inspiration to us all and you are all winners in my eyes !
